Start with where you work

Claude is a standalone assistant for conversational work. Notion AI is integrated with a workspace. If your task starts with a blank page, a standalone assistant may be a simpler starting point. If it depends on information already in Notion, evaluate the workspace integration.

Free access means different things

Claude lists a free plan. Notion lists trial AI capabilities on its Free plan. A trial is not an ongoing free AI plan. Verify current limits and plan details before committing.

Verify output and permissions

Neither tool removes the need to check facts. Review what data you supply and, for workspace features, which content can be accessed. This comparison is based on provider documentation; it is not a benchmark or personal test.
